The Coming Schwab Transition
Sometime around Labor Day weekend in early September, we expect the merger of Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade to finally be completed, impacting all of our clients with accounts at TD Ameritrade Institutional. Here’s a short synopsis of what’s happening and how it will affect you, and a link to Schwab if you want to learn more.
Your relationship with Northstar will not change.
Your account will move from TD Ameritrade Institutional to Schwab over Labor Day weekend 2023.
Schwab will automatically transfer your assets and holdings—there is nothing you need to do.
After the move, you will have access to Schwab Alliance, a secure online client portal.
You will have a new Schwab account number, so you will need to update any direct deposits or recurring payments that you have set up directly with your bank or other third parties. Any instructions set up on TD Ameritrade will transfer over.
For more information on the transition, please visit https://welcome.schwab.com/alliance.
We will continue to update you as we learn more.
