The stair-climbing challenge, organized by the American Lung Association, took place at loanDepot park, home of the Miami Marlins. The purpose was to raise funds and awareness for lung health and air quality.
Northstar Financial Planners has a tradition of community involvement and philanthropy. By sponsoring the Fight for Air Climb - Miami, the firm reinforced its commitment to supporting meaningful causes and positively impacting the community’s health and well-being.
Lead Advisor Charlie Thomas, MBA, represented Northstar Financial Planners by participating in the challenging climb.
“Participating in the Fight for Air Climb was more than just a physical challenge; it was about coming together for a cause that affects millions of people worldwide,” Thomas said. “I climbed to honor those affected by lung diseases and to help raise money so we can all breathe easier.”

Giese also highlighted the significant participation of Miami-Dade firefighters in the event, noting: "It’s inspiring to see so many firefighters take part in the Fight for Air Climb. Our participation is a gesture of support for them and all our first responders, recognizing their bravery and commitment to our community."
The American Lung Association, founded in 1904, works to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy. It is focused on four imperatives: defeating lung cancer, creating a tobacco-free future, championing clean air for all, and improving the quality of life for those living with lung disease.
The nationwide Fight for Air Climb is one of the association’s signature fundraising events, bringing communities together to climb stairs and raise funds to support its mission of fighting lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and asthma, and improving air quality for all.
Participants climb stairs in a test of endurance and strength. Funds go toward research, education, and advocacy efforts to fight lung disease and promote lung health. Over the past 12 years, climbers have raised more than $71 million to support the American Lung Association.
